The TIME’S UP UK Justice and Equality Fund, managed by Rosa

Your donation is an act of solidarity and will help us build our capacity and create a world that insists on safe, fair and dignified work for women of all kinds.

The TIME’S UP UK Justice and Equality Fund, managed by Rosa, the UK Fund for Women and Girls, has so far distributed £2.7m to frontline women’s organisations in diverse communities across the UK and is resourcing a network of experts who can provide vital advice, support and advocacy to people who may have experienced sexual harassment at home, at work or in their community.

The Fund was launched in February 2018. It was set up to make a transformational difference to the advice and support available to those who face intersecting disadvantages related to their race, age, class, immigration status, disability or sexuality.

The Fund was kick-started by a £1m donation from Emma Watson and funded by Comic Relief and hundreds of activist donors from film, TV, theatre and the public, who came together to fight the culture of harassment, abuse and impunity that has existed in our communities and workplaces for too long.

The Fund has three themes that support people who may have experienced or be at risk of sexual harassment or abuse.

1. Advice, support and signposting:
Organisations were funded to ensure people are aware of their rights and responsibilities in relation to harassment, discrimination and creating safe working contexts, and that individuals have access to good-quality local or national advice and other specialist support services.

2. Legal and policy work:
Organisations were funded to support game-changing legal cases that can help improve laws and policies and create a safer future for us all.

3. Advocacy and prevention:
Organisations are being funded to create campaigns and alliances that protect women’s rights, promote equality and ensure safe environments.

The first round of grants was announced in the summer of 2018, with further rounds announced later in the year. Projects and programmes are now under way, with the full Fund now allocated.

So far over 40 grants have been awarded to over 30 organisations, which means hundreds of women and girls have been supported with advice, as well as professionals trained in supporting those who have been sexually harassed, to scale up the capacity and skills within existing services.

Together we can create a just, safe and equitable society free from sexual harassment and violence. You can donate to the TIME’S UP UK Justice and Equality Fund here, or contact Rosa for further information and updates on projects and programmes.
